Job summary

Stantec's Southern California team in Los Angeles is seeking a Deputy Project Manager with Planning experience to join our Environmental Services Practice.

You will manage project tasks, schedules, budgets, risk and change management, and environmental permitting for utility programs, lead multidisciplinary teams, develop technical documents, and assist with proposals.

This role requires strong land use planning knowledge, CEQA/NEPA expertise, and collaboration with clients and agencies.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Urban, Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of project management experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of environmental planning experience.
• Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams of 15+ staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage project/program schedules, deliverables, budgets, staff, and bring project scopes to successful completion.
• Develop and improve workflow processes and communication plans.
• Identify client needs and address project delivery risks and challenges.
• Provide planning and permitting support for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
• Oversee delivery of technical documents and regulatory compliance (CEQA/NEPA, NHPA, Clean Water Act).
• Mentor and coach team members to support business development and project delivery.
