Job summary

Stantec’s Southern California team is seeking a Deputy Project Manager with Planning experience to join our Environmental Services Practice in the power utility sector. You will provide project management support, lead development of technical documents, and coordinate environmental permitting for utility projects.

You will manage land use planning, CEQA/NEPA support, and multi-disciplinary teams while assisting with proposals and client coordination.

Qualifications

BA/BS degree in Environmental Science, Urban/Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Science, Environmental Studies, Natural Resources, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of project management experience.
Minimum 5 years of environmental planning experience.

Responsibilities

Manage multi-discipline program or project schedules, deliverables, budgets, staff, and bring program/project scopes to successful completion.
Develop effective workflow processes and communication plans.
Identify client needs and project initiatives to address risks and challenges.
Provide planning and permitting support for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
Oversee the work of a multi-disciplinary team to ensure delivery of environmental studies and regulatory compliance.
Mentor and train staff; assist with proposals as needed.
