Job summary

Stantec Consulting International Ltd. in Southern California seeks a Deputy Project Manager with planning experience to support environmental services for power utility clients. You will manage schedules, budgets, risk, and deliverables while coordinating environmental permitting and technical documents.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team, mentor staff, and help shape proposals and client relationships. This role requires strong planning background and CA permitting knowledge.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with utility environmental review and permitting processes; knowledge of Southern California planning.
• Minimum 3 years PM experience, preferably in natural resources planning and permitting in CA.
• Experience leading consulting teams of 15+ staff and fostering an inclusive and productive team culture.
• Ability to prioritize workloads in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong ability to build relationships with clients and proactively identify issues.
• Ability to analyze information and make sound project-level decisions.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean MVR.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-discipline program or project schedules, deliverables, budgets, staff, and ensure successful completion.
• Develop efficient workflow processes and communication plans for programs/projects.
• Proactively identify client needs and initiatives to address delivery risks.
• Provide planning and permitting support for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
• Oversee a multi-disciplinary team to deliver technical documents and regulatory compliance.
• Interact with multi-disciplinary teams, clients, and agencies.
• Mentor and coach a team to expand capabilities in environmental reports and permitting.
• Assist with developing scopes and budgets for environmental services proposals.
