Job summary

Stantec’s Southern California team is seeking a Deputy Project Manager with Planning experience to join our Environmental Services Practice working within our power utility sector. You will manage scheduling, cost control, risk management, change management, and document control, coordinating and leading environmental permitting for utility clients.

This role involves leading multi-disciplinary teams, developing technical documents, mentoring staff, and supporting proposals for CEQA/NEPA

Qualifications

• BA/BS in Environmental Science, Urban/Regional or Environmental Land Use Planning, Environmental Studies or related field with at least 5 years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of three years of project or program management experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of environmental planning experience.

Responsibilities

• Manage multi-discipline program or project schedules, budgets, staff and deliverables to successful completion.
• Develop work-flow processes and communication plans for programs/projects.
• Identify client needs and risks to delivery and address them proactively.
• Provide planning and permitting support for electrical transmission and distribution projects.
• Oversee a multi-disciplinary team to deliver technical documents and regulatory compliance.
• Interact with clients, agencies and multi-disciplinary teams effectively.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team and assist in business development.
• Assist in developing proposals (scope and budgets) for environmental tasks.
