Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks and design updates. You will assist lead engineers, with duties varying by market and project needs. A minimum 3.0 GPA is strongly preferred, and campus involvement is encouraged.

The role offers full-time hours with travel up to 5% and opportunities to learn through hands-on project work across environmental services, manufacturing, and infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field from an accredited program.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active campus/community involvement encouraged.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in data collection and analysis for continuous improvement.
• Present solutions to concerns and research project issues.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
