Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Chicago, IL is seeking an Engineering Intern to support environmental services projects. You will apply standard engineering techniques to design and update systems, assist lead engineers, prepare documentation, and help with client inquiries.

Candidates should be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, maintain at least a 3.0 GPA, and be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Qualifications

  • Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Self-motivated and eager learner with aptitude to grow in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Assist with responses to general questions.
  • Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
  • Present solutions to concerns.
  • Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
  • Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
