Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Minneapolis/St. Paul is seeking an Engineering Intern to support standard engineering tasks across Aviation & Federal, Environmental Services, and Transmission & Distribution markets.

You will assist with data entry, documentation, and PowerPoint presentations while learning project design workflows. The role emphasizes strong communication, problem-solving, and leadership, with opportunities to participate in campus and community activities.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
