Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to support project teams with standard engineering tasks, data entry, documentation, and presentations. You will assist with environmental infrastructure projects across markets and gain hands-on experience under lead engineers.

Pursuing a bachelor’s in Environmental Engineering (ABET preferred) and a strong GPA are favored.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or related field.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship or related consulting experience preferred.
• Actively involved in campus, community or other volunteer activities or organizations.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
• Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
• Demonstrated leadership skills.
• Self-motivated and eager learner, aptitude to grow and develop within the field.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns; analyze and recommend solutions to problems.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
• Complies with all policies and standards.
