Job summary

Burns & McDonnell in Kansas City, MO is seeking an Environmental Engineering Intern to support project work across market segments. You will apply standard engineering techniques, assist lead engineers, and help update designs while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic consulting environment.

The role emphasizes teamwork, data analysis, and communication as you contribute to environmental projects, help prepare presentations, and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Pursuit of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering or a related field is required.
• ABET accreditation strongly preferred.
• Prior internship and/or related consulting experience preferred.
• Active involvement in campus, community or other volunteer activities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with filing, scanning, data entry, documentation and PowerPoint presentations.
• Assist with responses to general questions.
• Participate in continuous improvement by collecting and analyzing data.
• Present solutions to concerns.
• Research solutions to project concerns and recommend fixes.
• Assist with ad hoc projects as assigned by managers.
