Job summary

Bunnell-Lammons Engineering (BLE) seeks a Department Manager to lead the Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Services in the Charlotte metro area. This senior role oversees technical delivery, staff development, project performance, and client service while collaborating with the Charlotte Branch Manager and business development to grow BLE's practice.

You will drive QA/QC, staffing, budgeting, and strategic planning, while maintaining BLE's standards and fostering trusted client

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline; advanced degree preferred.
• Must meet the definition of an Environmental Professional per 40 CFR 312.10.
• Professional registration as a PE or PG strongly preferred; other relevant environmental certifications encouraged.
• Typically 8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting, including project management and staff leadership.
• Experience managing environmental due diligence, site investigation, remediation and regulatory-closure projects including Phase I ESAs and Phase II investigations.
• Familiarity with ASTM standards, All Appropriate Inquiries requirements, and federal/state environmental programs.
• Existing relationships within the Charlotte metro area or surrounding markets are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Maintain department standards, ethics, and regulatory compliance.
• Establish priorities, workflows, and best practices to promote quality, accountability, efficiency, and profitability.
• Oversee due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and regulatory-closure projects from scoping to closure.
• Plan and coordinate project activities including fieldwork, sampling, lab analyses, and schedules.
• Lead data interpretation, site-model development, remedial evaluation, and closure strategies.
• Lead QA/QC, review proposals, work plans, and regulatory submittals.
