Job summary

BLE seeks a Department Manager in Charlotte to lead its Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Services. This senior leader will oversee technical performance, staff development, project delivery, finances, and client service while partnering with the Charlotte Branch Manager to grow the practice.

The role requires 8+ years in environmental consulting, PE/PG preferred, and strong leadership to build a high-performing team and expand BLE’s environmental capabilities in the region.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related field.
• Professional registration (PE or PG) strongly preferred; other environmental certs encouraged.
• Typically 8+ years in environmental consulting with project leadership and staff development.
• Experience managing due diligence, site investigations, remediation, and regulatory-closure projects.
• Knowledge of ASTM standards, All Appropriate Inquiries, and federal/state programs.

Responsibilities

• Lead BLE’s Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Services department in Charlotte.
• Oversee staff development, project delivery, budgets, and client service.
• Collaborate with Branch Manager and business development to grow the practice.
• Ensure quality, ethical compliance, and profitability across projects.
• Provide technical guidance, proposals review, and risk management.
