BUNNELL LAMMONS ENGINEERING (BLE) seeks a Department Manager for Environmental Due Diligence and Remediation Services in the Charlotte area. The senior leader will shape the new department, drive technical excellence, and deliver high-quality projects while mentoring staff and managing budgets.

The role emphasizes staff development, client relations, and strategic growth within an employee-owned firm and offers opportunities for ownership progression.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline.
• Professional registration as a PE or PG preferred; other environmental certifications encouraged.
• 8+ years of progressive experience in environmental consulting with project leadership.
• Experience managing due diligence, site investigations, remediation, and regulatory closure.
• Familiarity with ASTM standards, All Appropriate Inquiries, and federal/state programs.

Responsibilities

• Oversee environmental due diligence, site investigation, remediation, and regulatory-closure projects from scoping to closure.
• Plan and coordinate project activities including regulatory research, field work, and reporting.
• Lead QA/QC, review proposals, work plans, and technical deliverables; act as final reviewer when authorized.
• Develop departmental strategy, staffing plans, budgets, and forecasts; ensure profitability and client service.
• Build trusted client relationships and support growth through technical leadership and proposals.
