Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to oversee compliance with environmental policies across warehousing and cross-docking operations.

You will lead due diligence, audits, and training to reduce risk and improve regulatory adherence. You will collaborate with internal and external stakeholders from RFP through steady-state operations, focusing on hazardous materials storage and environmental controls while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or 5+ years related experience.
• Master's degree preferred in Environmental Science or related field.
• 5+ years progressively responsible position in environmental field in large corporate setting.
• Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting transportation industry.
• Experience with regulatory agencies or consulting firms in environmental area.
• Experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation (preferred).
• Knowledge of environmental laws affecting transportation and logistics (intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities, from RFP issuance through Go Live.
• Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to stationary emissions, waste and hazmat management.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including facility audits and coordinating audits.
• Develops and implements environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and others.
