Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to oversee compliance with environmental policies in warehousing and crossdocking operations, emphasizing hazardous materials storage.

The role collaborates across stakeholders from RFP through steady-state operations to reduce risk and improve environmental compliance. The position reports to the Director of Environmental Services and requires staying current with evolving environmental regulations, audits, and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five years related experience.
• Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field.
• Five years or more progressively responsible position in the environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting.
• Experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation.
• Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry.

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP issuance through Go Live to assure compliance with Ryder policies and regulations.
• Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to stationary emissions as well as waste and hazmat management programs.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including audits and coordinating responses to external audits.
• Develops and implements environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and related requirements.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
