Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. seeks an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to lead regulatory compliance for warehousing and cross-docking operations, focusing on hazardous materials handling and environmental controls.

You will support from RFP through steady-state operations, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to mitigate risk and ensure policy adherence. The role requires robust knowledge of environmental laws affecting transportation, plus hands-on auditing and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five+ years of related experience in regulatory, corporate consulting, finance, or transportation setting.
• Master's degree in Environmental Science or related field preferred.
• Five+ years progressively responsible position in environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting.
• Five+ years familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting the transportation industry.
• Five+ years experience with regulatory agency or environmental consulting firm.
• Three+ years experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation (preferred).
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry (intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP through Go Live to ensure compliance.
• Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to emissions, waste and hazmat management.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including facility audits and coordinating external audits.
• Develop and implement environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and other needs.
