Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to ensure compliance with environmental policies in our supply chain operations, including warehousing and cross-docking, with a special focus on hazardous materials storage.

You will work with internal and external stakeholders from RFP through steady-state operations to implement controls and reduce risk. You will lead audits, stay current on environmental regulations, and develop training tools for waste management,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required Environmental Science or five years related experience in regulatory, corporate consulting, finance or transportation setting.
• Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field.
• Five years or more progressively responsible position in environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting (required).
• Familiarity with Environmental Laws impacting transportation industry (required).
• Experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in environmental area (required).
• Experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation (preferred).
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting transportation and logistics industry (intermediate).

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP through Go Live.
• Stays current with local, state and federal environmental regulations impacting Ryder and related to emissions, waste and hazmat management.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including facility audits and coordinating responses to external environmental audits.
• Develops and implements environmental training tools for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and other requirements.
