Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking an Environmental Services Compliance Manager to lead compliance efforts across warehouse and crossdocking operations with a focus on hazardous materials handling.

The role collaborates with internal and external stakeholders from RFP through steady-state operations to mitigate risk and enhance environmental compliance. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science or five years related experience with regulatory, corporate consulting, finance or transportation setting.
• Master's degree preferred Environmental Science or related field.
• Five years or more progressively responsible position in the environmental field with emphasis in large corporate setting.
• Experience with regulatory agency or consulting firm in the environmental area is required.
• Three years or more Experience with hazardous materials storage and transportation is preferred.
• Knowledge of Environmental Laws impacting the transportation and logistics industry intermediate required.

Responsibilities

• Performs environmental due diligence assessments for new supply chain opportunities from RFP issuance through Go Live to assure compliance with Ryder policies and regulations.
• Stays current with local, state and federal regulations affecting stationary emissions, waste, hazmat management programs, and environmental controls.
• Provides day-to-day compliance support to warehouse and cross-docking facilities, including routine audits and coordinating responses to external audits.
• Develop and implement environmental training tools to meet start-up and ongoing training requirements for waste management, spill response, regulatory reporting, and others.
