Job summary

Rivian is seeking a Lead Specialist, Environmental Programs to own regulatory compliance across a geographically distributed portfolio of sites, projects, and operations. The role requires deep regulatory knowledge and practical operating judgment, translating federal, state, and local requirements into permits, site controls, and actionable tasks for operational teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, environmental engineering, chemistry, natural resources, policy or related field; equivalent education/experience considered.
• 8+ years of progressively responsible environmental, regulatory, or EHS experience.
• Experience managing environmental compliance across a national or multi-site portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Own and manage environmental permits, compliance obligations, and site interfaces across multiple sites.
• Support permit acquisition, modification, renewal, and ongoing compliance for new and active sites.
• Oversee air permits, emissions data, and agency correspondence; lead or support RCRA programs and waste management.
• Integrate environmental requirements into construction, expansion and site activation projects.
