Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Engineer in Hawthorne, CA to develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance programs supporting Falcon/Dragon, Raptor/Starship, and Starlink programs. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
• 4+ years of professional experience in environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Experience in manufacturing and/or construction environments.
• Experience with agencies including DTSC, CUPA, EPA, and regional boards.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to interpret complex regulations.
• Experience developing, maintaining, and auditing Soil Management Plans and HMBPs.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain environmental compliance programs at SpaceX’s Hawthorne, CA location.
• Oversee day-to-day environmental site management for manufacturing and construction projects.
• Monitor and sample as required by SMP and regulatory guidelines.
• Manage hazardous waste sampling, profiling, and disposal from projects.
• Develop and maintain site regulatory reporting and compliance calendars.
• Coordinate with regulators and internal teams to ensure regulatory adherence.
• Review and manage permitting, environmental testing, and assessments.
• Plan changes in facilities to meet regulatory and permit requirements.
• Allocate resources to environmental requirements across the site.
• Maintain relationships with regulators and cross-site teams.
• Assist the broader Environmental team with site compliance as needed.
