Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a Sr. Environmental Health & Safety Engineer in Hawthorne, CA. You will develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, EPA, NIOSH, and other agencies while collaborating with leadership on hazard assessments and safety policies.

You’ll monitor exposures, implement machine guarding, and drive investigations into incidents and root causes. The role requires a bachelor's degree and 5+ years in EHS disciplines; preferred engineering emphasis in occupational health or environmental

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering with emphasis in occupational health and safety and/or environmental engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in environmental, health and safety disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain compliance with OSHA, NFPA, NIOSH and other regulatory agencies.
• Collaborate with leadership to perform job hazard assessments and implement safety policies.
• Monitor employee exposure to physical and chemical hazards.
• Implement machine guarding and inspect facilities and equipment for hazards.
• Investigate accidents to determine root causes and preventive actions.
• Develop and maintain safety contingency plans (fires, spills, etc.).
• Review environmental laws and guidance, and advise management accordingly.
• Conduct environmental compliance audits and monitor permits and plans.
• Maintain waste management compliance (hazardous and non-hazardous).
• Relocation to Hawthorne, CA area if not local; work extended hours as needed.
