Job summary

SpaceX is seeking an Environmental Health & Safety professional for the Starbase site to lead environmental compliance initiatives in a fast-paced aerospace setting. You will build the program from the ground up, aligning with regulatory requirements and integrating with engineering teams across the site.

The role emphasizes deep experience in environmental and regulatory compliance for construction/manufacturing operations, with ITAR considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; 5+ years in environmental/regulatory programs.
• Experience working with regulatory agencies, environmental audits, and reporting.
• Ability to relocate to Pecan Island, LA; this is a non-remote role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, execute, and improve environmental compliance programs at SpaceX's Starbase site
• Maintain compliance with regulations established by TCEQ, DOT, EPA, and other agencies
• Track, review, and interpret new environmental laws and regulations, and advise management
• Perform environmental audits to ensure regulatory compliance
• Maintain hazardous materials program, compliance calendar, and environmental recordkeeping tools
• Maintain site operational compliance plans including storm water and wastewater permits
• Handle environmental reporting and recordkeeping tasks
• Coordinate and manage contractors for permitting and testing
• Assist EH&S team with site compliance as needed
• Support planning for facility and equipment changes to meet regulatory requirements
• Develop relationships with federal, state, and county regulators
• Foster close collaboration with engineering teams across the site
