Job summary

Vermeer Welder I position offers hands-on training in a collaborative, safety-focused environment. You’ll weld and assemble components to Vermeer standards, building foundational skills while contributing to high-quality equipment used worldwide.

Entry-level welding experience or formal training is preferred, with opportunities to obtain AWS GMAW-P certification through our Weld Training Program and to learn from experienced teammates in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols with precision measurements.
• Willingness to learn and qualify in FCAW and other welding positions.
• Ability to access digital work instructions and drawings.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a focus on safety and quality.
• Good communication and teamwork in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions according to blueprints and welding procedure specifications.
• Prepare, position, and align components using fixtures; bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts.
• Safely and efficiently operate an oxyfuel cutting torch for preheating and perform routine maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and work instructions; apply decimal-based measurements.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems to support accurate weld execution.
• Identify welding defects, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
• Support 5S and workplace organization goals by maintaining a clean and efficient work area.
