Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a Welder I for the Second Shift in Freeman, SD. You will perform welds in multiple positions, following blueprints and our welding standards, while contributing to a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

You’ll complete the Weld Training Program, gain foundational welding expertise, and collaborate with a team focused on excellence and customer impact.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Ability to complete Vermeer’s Weld Training Program with AWS GMAW-P certification to D14.0 and qualify in FCAW positions.
• Ability to read blueprints and welding symbols with precision.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions according to blueprints and welding procedures.
• Prepare, position, align components, and tack weld to secure parts for final welding.
• Operate oxyfuel cutting torch safely and maintain welding equipment.
