Job summary

Vermeer is seeking a Welder I to contribute to our global manufacturing operations. You’ll perform weldments, read blueprints, and follow welding standards to support safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

This entry-level role includes the Weld Training Program (AWS GMAW-P) and opportunities to develop hands-on skills on OFC, fixture work, and digital drawings, while collaborating with a team in a clean, organized work area.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Able to complete Vermeer Weld Training with AWS GMAW-P to D14.0 (flat 1G-UL) and qualify in FCAW for 3F/4F.
• Able to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and apply precise measurements.
• Able to access digital work instructions and drawings via computer systems.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills, including identifying defects and root cause analysis.
• Able to adapt quickly to changing situations while maintaining safety and quality.
• Strong communication to collaborate with team, supervisors, and other departments.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments per blueprints and welding procedures.
• Prepare and align components using fixtures; bolt and tack weld.
• Operate oxyfuel torch and maintain welding equipment.
• Read blueprints and welding symbols; apply precise measurements.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems.
• Identify defects and assist root cause analysis for quality.
• Maintain 5S and organize the work area for efficiency.
