Job summary

Vermeer Corporation is seeking a Welder I for the Second Shift to join a collaborative, safety-focused team producing high-quality equipment used worldwide. You will develop foundational welding skills while following Vermeer Welding Standards and contributing to continuous improvement.

You will read blueprints, set up components, and perform welds in multiple positions, while maintaining a clean, efficient work area and supporting 5S goals.

Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols and measurements.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions per blueprints and welding procedures.
• Prepare, position, and align components using fixtures; bolt, clamp, tack weld parts.
• Safely operate an oxyfuel cutting torch for preheating and perform routine equipment maintenance.
• Read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols with decimal-based measurements for accuracy.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems to support weld execution.
• Identify welding defects and participate in root-cause analysis for corrective actions.
