Qualifications

• Entry-level welding experience or formal training (tech school, apprenticeship, or equivalent).
• Ability to read blueprints, interpret welding symbols, and apply precise measurements.
• Willingness to learn and qualify in FCAW for additional positions and to complete Vermeer’s Weld Training Program.

Responsibilities

• Complete weldments in various positions according to blueprints and welding procedures.
• Prepare, position, and align components using fixtures; bolt and tack weld parts for final welding.
• Safely operate an oxyfuel cutting torch for preheating and perform routine maintenance on welding equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings and work instructions; apply decimal-based measurements for precision.
• Access digital drawings and work instructions via computer systems to support accurate weld execution.
• Identify welding defects, assist root-cause analysis, and support corrective actions to maintain quality.
• Support 5S and workplace organization to improve department performance.
