MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION (MTA) seeks entry-level Police Officers to join a dedicated force serving MTA Bus, Metro, Light Rail and MARC Train systems. The role involves enforcing laws, patrolling, responding to incidents, directing traffic, and completing detailed reports to protect personnel and state property.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens, at least 20½ years old, and graduates of a recognized high school or GED.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 20½ years old and a U.S. citizen.
• Graduation from an accredited high school or GED recognized by the State of Maryland.
• A valid Maryland driver's license with a clean driving record as per MTA standards.

Responsibilities

• Enforcing laws and safeguarding personnel and state property.
• Patrolling in vehicles or on foot to maintain safety and security.
• Responding to trespassers, suspicious persons, disturbances, and emergencies.
• Directing traffic and enforcing parking regulations.
• Issuing verbal/written warnings or summonses and making arrests.
• Investigating accidents and criminal acts; writing clear reports.
• Rendering emergency first aid and transporting suspects as needed.
• Participating in ongoing training and related duties as required.
