The Maryland Transit Administration is seeking a lateral Police Officer to serve across its Bus, Metro, Light Rail, and MARC Train/Commuter Bus systems. Current certification as a Police Officer from the Maryland Police Training and Standards Commission (MPTSC) is required.

Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid Maryland driver’s license.
  • Driving record must meet MTA standards (limits on violations and points).

Responsibilities

  • Work 40 hours per week with variable shifts, including evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Enforce safety rules and regulations on all transit systems.
  • Pass mandatory background checks, drug/alcohol screening, polygraph and psychological evaluation.
  • Maintain required safety training and professional conduct.
