Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc (GPI) is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to join the transportation team in a hands‑on, mentored role. You will contribute to traffic studies, safety analyses, signal design, and multimodal projects while learning alongside experienced professionals on meaningful infrastructure initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or related field from an ABET‑accredited university.
• Engineer‑in‑Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within one year preferred.
• Internship or co‑op experience in transportation or traffic engineering is a plus.
• Basic understanding of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic impact studies, traffic operations analyses, and transportation planning projects.
• Collect, review, and analyze traffic data, including traffic counts, speed studies, and crash data.
• Support the design and evaluation of traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, and roadway safety improvements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic modeling and simulation using industry-standard software.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits to evaluate existing traffic conditions.
• Support roadway, intersection, and multimodal improvement projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, clients, municipalities, and transportation agencies.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
• Support construction‑phase activities, including responding to field questions and reviewing traffic control plans.
