Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. (GPI) is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to join our transportation team and help shape the future of transportation.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year preferred.
• Internship or co-op in transportation/traffic engineering is a plus.
• Basic understanding of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM or similar software.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Willingness to perform occasional fieldwork and site visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic impact studies and transportation planning projects.
• Collect and analyze traffic data, including traffic counts, speed studies, and crash data.
• Support the design and evaluation of traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, and roadway safety improvements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic modeling and simulation using industry-standard software.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits to evaluate existing traffic conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, clients, municipalities, and transportation agencies.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Review plans and specifications to ensure compliance with applicable standards and guidelines.
• Support construction-phase activities, including responding to field questions and reviewing traffic control plans.
