Qualifications

• ABET-accredited civil/transportation engineering degree.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year preferred.
• Internship or co-op in traffic engineering a plus.
• Fundamental understanding of traffic engineering and planning.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Synchro, HCS, VISSIM or similar tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Willingness to perform occasional fieldwork.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic impact studies and transportation planning projects.
• Collect, review, and analyze traffic data such as counts and speeds.
• Support signal design, signing, markings, and roadway safety improvements.
• Prepare engineering calculations and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic modeling and simulation using industry software.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits.
• Support roadway, intersection, and multimodal improvement projects.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, clients, and agencies.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Review plans to ensure standards compliance and assist field questions.
