Job summary

Greenman-Pedersen, Inc. is seeking an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer to join our transportation team. You will gain hands-on experience in traffic engineering, transportation planning, and roadway design while working with experienced professionals on meaningful infrastructure projects.

You will contribute to traffic studies, safety analyses, signal design, and multimodal transportation projects, with mentorship and opportunities for professional growth in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor's degree in civil or transportation engineering.
• EIT certification or ability to obtain within one year preferred.
• Internship or co-op experience in transportation or traffic engineering is a plus.
• Basic understanding of traffic engineering and transportation planning principles.

Responsibilities

• Assist with traffic impact studies, traffic operations analyses, and transportation planning projects.
• Collect, review, and analyze traffic data, including counts, speed studies, and crash data.
• Support design and evaluation of traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, and safety improvements.
• Prepare engineering calculations, technical reports, and project documentation.
• Assist with traffic modeling and simulation using industry-standard software.
• Participate in field investigations and site visits to evaluate traffic conditions.
• Coordinate with engineers, planners, clients, municipalities, and transportation agencies.
• Assist with permit applications and regulatory submissions.
• Review plans to ensure compliance with standards and guidelines.
• Support construction-phase activities, including field questions and reviews of traffic control plans.
