City Year AmeriCorps member position in Kansas is entry-level and paid, offering coaching and mentoring to students across grade levels. The role supports teachers and schools to improve attendance, literacy and math skills, with training at year start and ongoing collaboration with staff.

You'll participate in both in-class and after-school activities, gaining hands-on experience in education and community service through City Year AmeriCorps.

Qualifications

• Experience in all tasks is not necessary.
• 2–4 weeks of training at the beginning of the year to support you.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and school staff.

Responsibilities

• Coaching and mentoring students to achieve academic success.
• Plan and monitor individual student progress.
• Work with teachers on in-class student support and classroom activities.
• Support extended day and after-school programs and student clubs.
