Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members coach and mentor students to boost academic success, attendance, and positive behavior in classrooms and school-wide initiatives in Kansas. You will plan and monitor progress and partner with teachers to support student learning.

Role includes 2–4 weeks of training at the start, with ongoing support from staff and fellow AmeriCorps members. A bi-weekly living stipend and benefits apply to City Year placements.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required; 2–4 weeks of training provided at start.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to identified students.
• Assist with literacy and math activities and student engagement.

Responsibilities

• Coach and mentor students 1:1 and in small groups.
• Plan and monitor progress; collaborate with teachers.
• Support in-class instruction and student engagement activities.
• Help implement behavior management and positive routines.
