Job summary

City Year AmeriCorps members serve as Student Success Coaches and mentors in schools across Kansas. This entry-level, full-time role supports students, families, and teachers to improve attendance, literacy, and behaviors while gaining hands-on training and service experience.

You’ll participate in 2–4 weeks of training at the start of the year and work alongside partner teachers to plan activities and monitor student progress in classrooms.

Qualifications

• Experience with coaching and mentoring students preferred.
• Ability to develop literacy and math skills with diverse learners.
• Capable of partnering with teachers and school staff to monitor progress.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to students.
• Plan and monitor progress, reinforce positive behaviors.
• Assist teachers with in-class instruction and student activities.
• Contribute to school-wide events and enrichment programs.
