Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive, day-to-day onsite operations at commercial and utility-scale solar plants. You will assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and inspections to maximize uptime.

This field role requires safety focus, ability to travel, and on-call availability. Candidates should have 6 months to 1 year of related field experience or completion of ACT's Apprentice program and OSHA 10 certification.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of relevant field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade; or completion of ACT's Apprentice program
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off, or ability to obtain sign-off within onboarding period
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification or ability to obtain within 90 days
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including identification of fuses, breakers, switches, power sources, and major BoS equipment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to travel around 20% and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends
• FAA Part 107 certification, Technical Writing course, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything that you do
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities including inverter maintenance and repairs
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support
• Conduct monthly site inspections and vegetation checks
• Log data and complete safety paperwork; maintain inventory and equipment
• Dispatch and remediation for repairs under 50V; assist with warranty claims as needed
• Maintain company property and logs across multiple systems
