Job summary

ACT Power Services LLC seeks a Solar Field Service Technician to safely manage day-to-day onsite operations of Commercial and Utility Scale Solar PV plants. You will support preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to maximize production, working across modules, trackers, and medium-voltage equipment in the field.

Based in the field, the role requires travel to sites nationwide as needed, with on-call responsibilities and extended hours, while adhering to safety standards and

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of field experience in solar, electrical, or related technical trade, or completion of ACT's Apprentice program.
• Qualified Electrical Worker (QEW) sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within first 90 days
• Ability to read and interpret drawings including fuses, breakers, switches, power sources and BoS equipment
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite
• Ability to follow directions and complete tasks
• Valid Driver's License
• Ability to travel ~20% and work on-call on weekends
• FAA Part 107 certification and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training completed or in progress

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in all activities
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar PV facilities (inverters, trackers, etc.)
• Perform string-level troubleshooting, tracker inspections, and basic maintenance support
• Conduct routine vegetation and site equipment inspections, including monthly checks
• Replace damaged components as directed
• Apply NEC code knowledge and industry best practices with continuing education
• Perform basic electrical testing under supervision
• Dispatch and remediation for repairs under 50V
• Maintain company property and inventory
• Log service reports, inspections, safety paperwork, and spare parts in Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint
• Conduct and log vehicle inspections on time
• Initiate warranty claims with vendors/OEMs as needed
• Identify safety hazards and mitigate risks
• Conduct pre-job brief analyses
• Participate in Good Catch Program and BBSO observations
• Attend maintenance, troubleshooting, and technical writing training
