Job summary

ACT Power Services is seeking a Solar Field Service Technician to support safe, productive, day-to-day onsite operations at Solar PV plants. You will engage in preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs to maximize production while advancing your technical skills and safety competency in a dynamic field role.

Based in the field with opportunities to work across sites, this position requires travel and on-call availability.

Qualifications

• 6 months to 1 year of solar/electrical field experience or ACT Apprentice program completion.
• QEW sign-off, or ability to obtain within onboarding period.
• OSHA 10 General Industry certification, or ability to obtain within the first 90 days.
• Able to read and interpret drawings, including fuses, breakers, switches, sources and major BoS equipment.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Willing to travel around 20% and work on-call during off-shift hours and weekends as needed.
• FAA Part 107 certification, and ACT High Voltage/Medium Voltage training in progress or completed.

Responsibilities

• Uphold a high level of safety standards in everything you do.
• Assist in preventive maintenance, service, troubleshooting, and repair of solar facilities, including inverter maintenance.
• Perform string-level troubleshooting and tracker inspections.
• Conduct routine vegetation and site inspections, including monthly inspections.
• Log service reports and inspections into Fiix, TrueContext, Deputy, and ACT SharePoint.
• Initiate warranty claims with equipment vendors/OEMs as needed.
• Maintain company property and inventory; log vehicle inspections on time.
• Participate in Good Catch Program and BBSO observations.
