Job summary

RTX Corporation in the United States is seeking an RF/Microwave Engineer to design, develop, test, and manufacture advanced semiconductor devices, MMICs, phased array hardware, and radar modules for defense applications. You will join our RF/Microwave team at multiple locations in Massachusetts, contributing to premier radar programs and collaborating across disciplines.

The role emphasizes hands-on measurement with VNAs and spectrum analyzers, software control with Python, MATLAB and LabVIEW,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related STEM field by start date.
• Coursework in RF circuit design, microwave engineering, or radar.
• Experience in at least one RF/microwave domain.

Responsibilities

• Perform fixtured and on-wafer probe measurements, characterization, and assembly of RF, microwave, and millimeter-wave test setups.
• Design, simulate, and analyze RF/microwave components, MMICs, and phased array module hardware.
• Execute component-level and system-level integration and testing for digital, analog, and RF assemblies.
• Utilize automated test instrumentation and software (e.g., Python, MATLAB, LabVIEW) to control measurement systems, capture data, and evaluate test results.
• Characterize devices using VNAs, Spectrum Analyzers (RSAs), and PNAs.
• Conduct circuit simulations, obsolescence trade assessments, hardware troubleshooting, and failure investigations to resolve performance issues.
• Partner with systems, quality assurance, reliability, and manufacturing personnel to develop robust test solutions and optimize production workflows.
