Job summary

Hourigan Group in Rock Hill, SC is hiring an entry-level Project Engineer to support construction management tasks across multiple tracks, including preconstruction and field coordination. This role offers hands-on learning across project management, safety, and coordination with senior team members.

The successful candidate will assist with drawings, permits, scheduling, and quality control while growing through exposure to project management and preconstruction activities.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
• 0-3 years of progressive construction related experience.
• Willing to lift up to 50 lbs and perform field activities.

Responsibilities

• Follow & assist with development of procedures for controlling contract drawings.
• Assist Project Administrator with setup of the job management system.
• Assist the project team with the building permit process.
• Assist the Superintendent in the site utilization plan.
• Assist with review and coordination of the Loss Prevention, Sustainability Action Plan and Quality Control Program.
• Review submittal data and shop drawings to support project schedules and on-time deliveries.
• Prepare and maintain administrative logs (RFI, RFP, COR, Submittal, Document Control).
• Serve as onsite quality manager for assigned trades and verify subcontractor deliveries meet requirements.
• Attend project meetings and assist with progress reports/minutes.
• Distribute change documents and assist with pricing for internal reviews.
• Ensure changes are updated on as-built drawings and coordinated with the team.
