Job summary

Hourigan in Richmond, VA is seeking a motivated entry‑level Project Engineer to learn construction management tracks, including field management, project management, preconstruction services, virtual design and coordination, and safety.

You will assist with drawing control, permit processes, site plans, submittals, meetings, and procurement, while developing skills under the guidance of senior staff to help deliver projects on time and to high standards.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field or 0–3 years of progressive construction experience.
• Willingness to work non-traditional hours including early mornings/evenings.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks as part of field support.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing procedures for controlling contract drawings and submittals.
• Support project team with building permit processes and site logistics.
• Attend meetings, prepare progress reports, and help with procurement and change proposals.
