Job summary

BioLife Plasma Services in Missouri is seeking an Entry Level Phlebotomist/Medical Screener to greet donors, perform venipuncture, and monitor donors throughout the donation process. You will operate plasmapheresis equipment and support center operations.

The role requires a high school diploma, ability to stand for long shifts, and willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, with gloves and safety protocols in place due to potential bloodborne pathogen exposure.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift.
• Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees.
• Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
• Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance.
• Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear.
• 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful

Responsibilities

• Greet donors as they enter and exit the donor floor.
• Perform venipuncture and programming of plasmapheresis machines.
• Monitor donors during donation and manage reactions.
• Setup, verification, operation, and troubleshooting of plasmapheresis equipment.
• Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets on plasmapheresis machines.
• Stock supplies and assist with disposal.
• Record donor vital signs and enter data into the DIS.
• Coordinate donors to the donor floor and process compensation via Debit Card system.
• Assist center management with process improvements following company procedures (5S, Kaizen).
