Job summary

You will collect demographic and financial information, schedule services, obtain authorizations, and communicate patient financial responsibilities while upholding HIPAA and delivering strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience with patient registration systems preferred.
• Knowledge of private insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Pre-Registration for inpatients/outpatients prior to service, collecting demographic, financial, and clinical information.
• Obtain consent and necessary authorizations; verify insurance coverage.
• Document and verify insurance eligibility and benefits, alerting patients to financial liabilities.
• Post payments in the system and ensure accuracy of amounts.
• Provide Financial Counselor contact info to patients qualifying for state assistance.
• Communicate policies and collect time-of-service payments per guidelines.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and hospital policies.
