Job summary

Tufts Medicine is hiring a Per-Diem Patient Access Support role at Lowell General Hospital's Main Campus Patient Service Center. You will interview patients, collect demographics and financial information, verify benefits, and collect pre-service payments in a fast-paced environment.

The position requires high school diploma and good communication; in-person training and Epic courses are provided. This role supports revenue-cycle operations and patient access activities with supervision.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• One year of experience in customer service, hospital registration, medical office or insurance preferred.

Responsibilities

• Pre-register specified inpatients/outpatients with demographic, financial, and clinical data.
• Verify insurance and educate patients on coverage and costs.
• Obtain authorizations, pre-certifications, and referrals as needed.
• Collect and post payments; explain billing policies and provide financial counseling when eligible.
• Maintain confidentiality and communicate professionally with patients, physicians and staff.
