Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an engineering intern to advance material flow efficiencies and support new process implementations on the manufacturing floor. You will work with both hourly and salaried team members to analyze data, identify root causes, and implement improvements across assembly and quality areas.

The role emphasizes safety protocol development, on-site availability, and collaboration across production and maintenance teams, with opportunities to learn and apply lean manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027.
  • Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week.
  • Willing to work in a plant environment and onsite full-time.
  • Must be able to walk, stand, and perform inspections.
  • Must read work instructions, operate machines/tools, and respond to safety signals.
  • Must wear PPE in a loud, non-climate-controlled environment.
  • Must lift up to 15 pounds and occasionally up to 40 pounds.
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future.

Job description

Requirements
  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, Controls Engineering, Controls Systems Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering/Materials Science, or Manufacturing Engineering
  • Must be graduating between December 2026 and June 2027
  • Able to work full‑time, 40 hours per week
  • Must be willing to work in a plant environment
  • Must work onsite at the assigned facility on a full‑time basis
  • Must be able to walk and stand for prolonged periods
  • Must be able to read standardized work instructions, operate machines and tools, and perform quality inspections
  • Must promptly detect and respond to safety instructions, alarms, and signals
  • Must wear personal protective equipment
  • Must work in a loud, non‑climate‑controlled manufacturing environment
  • Must frequently and repetitively bend, twist, kneel, crouch, and reach
  • Must lift or carry materials up to 15 pounds and periodically up to 40 pounds
  • Must occasionally sit, climb ladders and lifts, and drive vehicles and equipment
  • Must not require GM immigration sponsorship now or in the future, including H‑1B, OPT, STEM OPT, CPT, TN, or J‑1 sponsorship
