  • Automotive experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the 2nd Shift Assembly team to meet safety, quality, productivity, cost, and morale goals.
  • Manage team safety, product quality, productivity, cost, and morale.
  • Plan and adjust labor to meet production schedules and ensure on-time shipments.
  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop team leaders and members.
  • Address team concerns and provide coaching when needed.
  • Collaborate with support functions to solve safety, quality, and production issues and drive improvements.
  • Collect, analyze, and report operational data.
  • Analyze workflow, line balancing, and efficiency to improve processes.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
  • Lead the department in the Assembly Manager’s absence.
  • Support the Annual Operating Plan and cost targets.
  • Reduce safety risks and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures.
  • Report accidents and incidents.
  • Perform other duties assigned by Operations Management.

Job description

  • Plan and adjust labor to achieve production schedules and ensure on-time shipments
  • Coach, mentor, train, and develop team leaders and team members
  • Address team member concerns and provide coaching and counseling when necessary
  • Collaborate with support functions to solve safety, quality, and production problems and drive improvements
  • Collect, analyze, and report operational data
  • Analyze workflow, line balancing, and efficiency to continuously improve processes and procedures
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Lead the department in the absence of the Assembly Manager
  • Support the Annual Operating Plan and performance and cost expectations
  • Reduce safety risks and enforce health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Report accidents and incidents
  • Perform other duties assigned by Operations Management
Requirements
  • Bachelor or Associate’s degree in Science, Engineering, or Business
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a supervisor in a manufacturing organization
  • Automotive experience is a plus
  • Leadership, coaching, process management, and process improvement skills
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations, make sound decisions, and meet tight timelines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Knowledge of health, safety, and environmental procedures
  • Willingness to take on additional responsibilities
  • Ability to implement Lean manufacturing principles and methods
