Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Manufacturing/Process Engineer to rotate across business areas, optimize daily production, and implement robust safety and quality systems. You will lead projects to improve product flow and develop tooling and workstations for new product introductions.

Applicants should have a related engineering degree, manufacturing internship, and strong problem-solving skills with Lean/Six Sigma expertise. Experience with Minitab, GD&T, VSM, and PFMEA is valued.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Industrial or Mechanical preferred).
  • Internship or co-op experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and root-cause focus.
  • Proactive in adopting new technology and continuous improvement.
  • Independently motivated and collaborative team player.
  • Proficiency in lean manufacturing and related tools (Minitab, GD&T, VSM, PFMEA).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt and related qualifications are preferred.
  • Immigration sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in 6-month rotations across different areas of the business.
  • Ensure efficient manufacturing of parts supporting daily production.
  • Define work methods for production areas and lead projects to improve product flow.
  • Develop and integrate safety procedures, including lockout, job safety analysis, PPE, machine guarding, and ergonomics.
  • Provide daily technical support and training for production teams on equipment programming, operation, and maintenance.
  • Monitor quality metrics, identify trends, perform root cause analysis, and develop corrective action plans.
  • Design tooling, fixtures, and workstations for new product introduction.
  • Investigate and purchase new equipment and tooling.
  • Contribute to equipment/process technology roadmaps and develop maintenance schedules.
  • Create and maintain manufacturing process-control documents, including engineering changes, routings, bills of material, standard work, value stream maps, and quality data collection sheets.
  • Use Lean and Six Sigma practices to improve quality, reduce costs, improve safety, and increase earnings.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in process failure mode effects analysis (pFMEA)
  • Proficiency in structured problem solving
  • Sponsorship of new applicants for employment authorization, or any other immigration-related support, is not available for this position
  • Six Sigma Green Belt Certification, Allen Bradley PLC programming and troubleshooting, automated assembly equipment, Power Apps, and new product introduction experience are preferred/differentiating qualifications
