Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer for our Philadelphia, PA office, starting in Summer 2027. This full-time role involves design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure and buildings, with opportunities to grow within the Property & Buildings Team.

You will collect and analyze site data, assist with design tasks, and generate precise documentation while adhering to safety and industry standards.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0 to 1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
  • Familiarity with design/build concepts.
  • Familiarity with mechanical systems, codes, regulations and permits.
  • Professional communication with engineering and non-engineering audiences.
  • Attention to detail and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Proficiency with technical writing and general office software.
  • Experience with Revit, AutoCAD, CAM.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from site, drawings, and reports.
  • Assist with basic professional mechanical engineering tasks including research and inspections of site conditions and equipment.
  • Perform routine engineering functions and support design requirements and operating strategies.
  • Assist with verifying site characteristics and providing technical assistance on engineering issues.
  • Generate documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and company procedures.
  • Complete training on assigned tasks.
  • Follow WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
