Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Mechanical Engineer for its Hamilton, NJ office, starting in Summer 2027. You will contribute to the Property & Buildings Team, assisting with design, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure projects.

Responsibilities include data collection, site inspections, basic load calculations, and documentation. Strong communication and safety awareness are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
  • 0–1 years of relevant post-education experience.
  • Strong analytical and research skills.
  • Familiarity with design/build processes and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and construction regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing site data and drawings for project development.
  • Perform basic professional mechanical engineering tasks related to research and inspections of site conditions.
  • Contribute to load calculations and operating strategies to ensure proper installation and function.
  • Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on engineering issues.
  • Generate clear documentation and specifications using electronic systems and field notes.
  • Adhere to safety guidelines and project procedures; complete assigned training.
  • Support project needs and travel as required.
