Job summary

WSP is seeking an entry-level Mechanical Engineer for our Philadelphia, PA office, starting Summer 2027. The role supports the Property & Buildings Team on design, development, testing, and inspection of mechanical systems for infrastructure and construction projects.

The position offers hands-on experience in site data collection, basic design calculations, drafting with Revit/AutoCAD, and documentation, with emphasis on safety and quality. Travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required.
• 0–1 year of post-education experience preferred.
• Strong research and analytical skills with good communication.
• Familiar with design/build concepts and mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of relevant codes, safety practices, and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with data collection, surveys, blueprints, and drawings for project development.
• Support basic mechanical engineering tasks, design reviews, and inspections.
• Perform load calculations and operating strategy analyses under supervision.
• Verify site characteristics and provide technical assistance on design issues.
• Produce clear documentation and specifications using electronic systems.
